Being a responsible professional salesperson is in my eyes one of the most important traits to master. The sales industry is a small world and you never know whom you will be working with or working for in the future. Those of us that travel for appts, trade shows, corporate office trips and QBR's understand that their has to be some winding down time from work. Getting up at 7am to start a trade show, talking and presenting all day til 5 or
6 pm can drain the heck out of you. Often times, our companies schedule entertainment for our customers like comedy or a band and having some drinks to wind down. Now, here is some advice that I have practiced throughput my career in sales. If you go out at night when on the road and have to be at your booth for example the next day at 7am you had better get to that booth at 7am regardless of how late you were out til the night before. Believe me when I tell you, you may or may not feel repercussions from management right away but I will guarantee you that it is being noticed. Don't be "that" person. If you play you must pay and get your ass up and at the booth. We are all adults and professional salespeople and are human. Well I think we are human. Some people beg to differ but anyway. Lol. Suck it up, learn from mistakes and continue to strive for a great reputation in the industry. You never know who your boss will be in the future. Hey it could be me someday. ;)
God Bless Long Island and surrounding areas!! We are getting hammered with yet another storm that dropped a ton of snow on us. Stay warm and stay safe.
