The point is we are always motivated to buy stuff somehow. In business, our customers are motivated to buy for many reasons. It's there JOB to use products to solve problems and hit business / IT adjectives. But these same customers have other motivations to buy. Need to have the NEW stuff. Need to stay current with company refresh cycles. The want / need to reward consultative salespeople that help them do their job.
Remember the HUMAN element in sales. We are all motivated. Find the motivation, find the pain or need, solve the initiative and close the opportunity.
