Here's a story that happened to me yesterday. I have had this growth, plantar wart, whatever thing on the bottom of my foot for months. Very painful and was treating it with over the counter medicine and special cushion pads. It was progressively getting worse and worse and decided enough is enough. I scheduled a doctor visit. When I arrived at the doctor no one was there. Door was locked and could hear answering machine picking up with people calling from outside the door. It's now 918 am and I am about to walk down the stairs to leave. When something tells me to stop. It's the doctor coming out of elevator. Now I was stressed that he was late and no one was there however I decided to see what was up. He was very agitated and frantic looking. I asked him what happened. He said he got into a car accident but everyone was ok. Now I feel a little but like an idiot for getting stressed but whatever. So he took me in and ended up doing a biopsy of my foot. Hurt like hell. The Dr and his assistant were awesome people, very warm and caring. It felt good that I didn't leave. Then as I am leaving the office with a numb foot waiting for more pain to come the Dr says hey you work for Dell right? I said yes. He said you think you could check out my laptop? I cannot connect to the internet. I said sure and fixed his laptop.
Later that night about 8pm I get a call on my cell phone from the Dr office. It's the Dr wanting to make sure I was ok and thanking me for fixing his computer. I was floored. That has never happened before and that soon. I was about to leave his office pissed that he was late but stayed. He took care of my foot finally, met some great people and was surprised by his phone call checking on me.
The point of this story is try to navigate away from the negative. Give people a chance to show what they are and who they are and what they are all about. You never know what lies ahead and who you are about to meet.
