Your impression in sales is one of the the three most important pieces to your success. The other two are purpose and attitude. We will cover these soon. So back to impression. Your impression keeps on selling for you even when you are not present. It's a living thing that keeps on moving. As you enter into engagements with peers and customers you are judged on your ability to help with whatever product solution or industry you are in. As soon as your impression is viewed as an asset and valuable you have reached a goal with those particular people or group or customer or whatever. That impression will always continue to enter into people's heads as they travel through their daily job. Who can help and who is valuable? Trust me! This is huge. And keep in mind that everyone is looking for that person or group that can help them do their job.
How do you know the impression you leave? First off, if you are solicited by your peers to help them without you engaging first you are viewed as valuable. We all need help performing our jobs and understand that time is not unlimited. We want to make the most of the time we have and it will not be wasted on someone that cannot help. How about this? Have your boss come visit and spend time with your customers and peers. You should be doing other things besides hanging with your boss at this time. And Believe this or not your peers that truly believe you are an asset to them will talk to your manager and tell them. It's our nature to want to help and help others look good with their boss. Here is a good one. If a customer calls you for advice on a certain issue of which they know is out of your realm or off topic. Or someone emails you morning noon and night about things related or unrelated to your products or services. This is showing major trust in you and that the impression you leave is that you are an expert and thought leader.
Be sure to keep in mind what impression you are leaving on people in your everyday life!!!
